The Hospitality Committee is in charge of feeding and pampering our staff (and guests on special events like Coffee & Kleenex and Veteran’s Day). This year we have planned coffee cart days, potluck lunches, catered meals, chair massages during Teacher Appreciation Week and more! Most of our budget goes towards catered meals and Teacher Appreciation Week events. We will require parent help to make up the rest! We have such an amazing staff at Patton who work tirelessly for our children, day in and day out. Please join us in showing the staff how much we appreciate them by donating and volunteering with the Hospitality Committee!
Here are the volunteer opportunities:
Coffee Cart Days
Coffee Cart is one of the ways we show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate them! The PTA’s Hospitality Committee organizes this event typically once a month. Parent volunteers are paired up in teams of two and visit classrooms around the school delivering hot beverages and other breakfast treats to teachers and staff. Volunteering for Coffee Cart is a fun way to get to know our school, meet teachers and put a smile on someone’s face!
A sign up list will be posted for all items needed. Volunteers are also needed to help set up the cart, walk the school to serve coffee, and clean up afterwards. Check back often for the sign-up sheets.
Potluck Lunches
These themed lunches normally feed 110 staff members including all teachers, administrators, custodians, front office staff, and cafeteria staff. A sign up list will be posted for all items needed. Volunteers are also needed to help set up and clean up. Check back often for the sign-up sheets.
Catered Luncheons
These events are typically held on Staff Development Days before the school year begins and after the last day of classes. While these events are catered, there is sometimes a need for volunteers to help set up and clean up.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Patton celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week in the early spring. The Hospitality Committee will create a schedule for the week’s events. Some events will be handled by the PTA while others will be the responsibility of class parents to execute. During this week the PTA will organize a day of chair massages for the teachers and staff.
